Learning Business with Fun

After a very long time I m now posting on my Blog.

Recently we (i myself and my kids) have got an opportunity to participate in a Kid's event held in our compound, which was actually an exhibition for children to show their skills or talent and have stall to sell their creative work.

My 9 years old son Saadi loves of ORIGAMI, so we decided to have a stall where we can display his outstanding origami work.

It was a wonderful experience for us to explore and learn. So I decided to share this activity and it's educational aspects and how we went through whole week in the preparations for exhibition.

1. Family Bonding:

This event help us to refresh our Bonding with each other through discussions, sharing of ideas, by making a working strategy like
a - Who will be the investor of our Business and This is no one but BABA of course :)
b- Who among us will be a working partner and that is MAMA & SAADI (my second son  9 year            old)
c- and a service provider who is BHAYYA (eldest son , 12 years old)

2. Pure Connection with ALLAH (SWT)

Before starting any work , I told my sons about Salat ul Hajat, and we all prayed 2 rakats and make this dua
Oh Allah we have planned and you are the best Planner please
a - make it easy for Us
     b- Help us
     c- make it complete
     d- and accept our efforts

Similarly after a successful exhibition we prayed Salat ul Shukr and Thanks Allah(SWT) without HIM it couldn't be such HIT.

3. Learning Business Ethics in the Light of Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH):

a - It has been decided that we will must give some Sadaqa from our earning.
b - we will must inform our customers about our product if it has any fault or damage (as the stuff created with paper is not that durable)
c - If someone returns any thing to us we will welcome them without any argument .
d - and we recited a masnoon dua of entering in a market.

4. Learning Social Sciences:

This area covers Confidence, Public dealing, Presentation skills and also we learned and observed a lot through other participant's stalls.

5. Learning Business Maths:

a - A part from making different things from paper We made Sale Invoice that is given to every customer.
b - A sheet is also designed to record available balance, received amounts, returned amounts etc.
c - And in last , percentage of every member had been calculated so that our business can be closed properly i.e
      - Sadqa from our Profit
      - 10% of investment returned to Baba
      -  Service Charges given to Bhayya
      -  Remaining amount equally distributed between working partners (Mama and Saadi)

So this is it!
A little Fun activity that Teaches us a lot.
Attached are some pictures and a video of our Stall , hope you like it.
Any suggestion related to this post will be much appreciated....

Reflection on the activity of Creating a Table

These days I am attending the classes of Maths Strands , that mainly focus on the philosophy and the conceptual learning of maths that can integrate with the real life.’ In the discussion about the activities our mentor asked us about to engage a child in the CREATION OF TABLE instead of forcing him to LEARN THE TABLE. Majority of mothers like me ….. :) focusing on the rote learning of tables and ask their children forcefully to memorize all the tables , well to learn the tables help us a lot but to learn or make children learn without knowing the logic or the pattern of the table is quite useless. Few months before I have placed table charts in my room and asked my 6 year old, to learn the tables one by one , as the tables had not been introduced in his class so being an efficient mother ( ironically saying :) ) I was in the way to make my child able to know and memorize all the tables before the time that it may come in his syllabus . Now I changed my strategy and keep ...
